    Upward helical flutes lift long, tough stainless steel chips out of blind holes completely, no residual chips stuck at hole bottom to lock or snap taps. Exclusively for blind hole processing, forming taps are not recommended for stainless steel.

    5% cobalt high-speed steel delivers outstanding red hardness and thermal resistance, resisting softening under high cutting heat generated by poor thermal conductivity of stainless steel. High toughness reduces tap breakage during heavy-load tapping.

  • TiCN Rainbow Coating: High hardness & wear resistance, universal choice for 304 stainless steel

  • TiAlN Coating: Excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, for hard & high-tensile stainless steel
    ❌ Ordinary golden TiN coating not recommended for stainless steel, prone to material galling and fast abrasion.

    Recommended Tapping Operation Guidelines
    1. Spindle speed: Keep at 50%–70% of the speed used for medium carbon steel to reduce heat & work hardening
    2. Cutting fluid: Use sulfurized chlorinated extreme pressure tapping oil, regular machine oil is forbidden
    3. Bottom hole: Enlarge hole diameter by 5%–10% compared to standard carbon steel hole size to lower tapping resistance
    4. Operation tip: Retract tap regularly to clear accumulated chips during deep blind hole tapping
